What Causes Numbness In Knee That Goes Down To Ankle?

I and having numbness down the front from my knee to my ankle, and there is this weird feeling in it all the time. Sometimes my knee fills like there is water in it . i cant kneel down because it feels like it wants to pop. It has never recovered since my back went out in July. I do a rapid two mile walk every day.
