What Causes Numbness In Legs After Passing Stools?
hello, i am a 42 yr old male. it seems that when i use the toilet that i will loose feeling in one or both legs to the point that i cant stand and walk. after standing for less that a minute, feeling returns. almost like blood flow was stopped to my legs while sitting. what do you think?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Loss of sensation in the lower limb after using toilet could be related to a particular position of the body wherein the blood flow slows down to the lower part of the body. The loss of sensations could be due to reduced blood supply to lower limbs. And this could be due to some kind of blockage in the blood vessels. Neurological cause could be the other cause however, that is unlikely since, the sensations should not return in case of neurological pathology. You need to consult your doctor preferably a surgeon for clinical assessment, relevant investigations especially doppler studies and diagnosis of the condition. Treatment can be instituted once the diagnosis is made.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
