What Causes Numbness In My Arm After An Injury?

Hi, I was playing football two days ago and I hit the right side of my head neck area. When I used my left arm to get up I couldntfeel it. I couldnt extend it, it felt like 100 pounds. Ihave gotten better but now I feel like my thumb is asleep and its numb. Whats wrong with me?
