What Causes Numbness In Occipital Area Along With Headaches?
gradually over the last week increased left shoulder tenderness scapula area, radiating to left occipital, two chiropractor treatments, then now doing physical therapy 3 x a week, taking lortab 5 1-2 q 4 hrs, flexeril tid, prednisone taper starting with 60 mg x 3 days, warm moist pack followed by ice then wmp, every 2-3 hrs, the last 2 days having numbness occipital area, discomfort gradually increases by evening no headachesany suggestions?

Your symptoms are suggestive of tension type headache and possible occipital neuralgia. It is just a muscular type of headache, so nothing serious. I recommend performing a cervical spine X-ray study and taking Indomethacine.
