Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness In Outer Thigh With Itchy Sensation?
Numbness in outer thigh when skin is touched. No pain, but there is an itchy sensation. Not too long ago my back was stuck in an upper position such as standing. I had to go to the hospital for muscle relaxers and pain meds. It is summer now, and this happened a while before school ended, could this still be the cause of the problems with my thighs? If not, what s going on?
Numbness in the thigh could be related to peripheral nerve disease, sciatica, vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency or excess muscle strain. Vitamin B12 and folic acid supplements can be taken regularly. Stretching exercises done regularly can help in relieving the symptoms and reduce them in the future. Kindly check your blood glucose levels.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
