I am 28 years old (female) and moderately healthy (I hike 3-4 times a week for 1+ hours and make sure I eat salads, veggies, and protein shakes). I am 50 pounds overweight currently and have been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder. HOWEVER, for the past 2.5 years, I have been drinking 3 shots of vodka 5 nights a week. I have been talking to my therapist on reducing the alcohol intake (which he said has been my self medication to try and force my body to relax from such a stressful job and home life). Yet, just recently, after I have a drink, my right leg feels a bit numb and it feels as though my heart skips a beat. My doctor recently did a physical and said my bloodwork looks good except my liver came back a little fatty. What is the scientific reason I am having numbness and skipping heart beats?
