What Causes Numbness In Roof Of Mouth With A Sore Lump On Palate?

I had horrible pain on the roof of my mouth for about four days also a lump on top left side of my palate Then on day five there's just discomfort with very little pain. Now it's numb and some of the lump at text front kind of looks like a sore. I'm just very concerned and wanted an opinion before I decided if I needed to go to ER. I have a picture as well

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pain and lump over the roof of mouth along with soreness and pain seems to be due to formation of an Apthous Ulcer or a Dental Abscess..
It can also be an inflamed minor salivary gland or a pyogenic granuloma..
Numbness seems to be due to inflammation.
I would suggest you to gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to relieve pain and discomfort..
You can do warm saline gargles..
Take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen..
You can suck ice pops..
Avoid hard and spicy food and drink plenty of water.. In case of no resolution in a week or of symptoms worsen consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical examination and investigations if needed and treat you accordingly..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
