Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A a portion on the lower half of the back of my calf has been numb for 2 days, almost as if it has fallen asleep. I just noticed that now I can see a physical indent (almost appears like when you rest your arm or leg on the edge of a table for awhile) which perfectly matches up with where my sense of touch changes from 100% to the numb ~15%.
Your sudden extremely pain and numbness in your calf could be a sign of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).
As it is a life-threatening condition and needs prompt diagnosis and management, I would suggest that you go to an emergency room asap and get a doppler ultrasound of the leg to rule it out.
If that is ruled out, other possibilities are cellulitis of leg or lymphangitis. These are infection and can be treated with antibiotics and painkillers.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
