What Causes Numbness In The Feet After An Ankle Sprain?

I sprained my ankle 9 days ago. When I get up after sleeping or resting, the pain is intense and it feels like my foot has fallen asleep. It s almost impossible to walk. After forcing myself to walk a few minutes, the pain goes away. What is causing this? Lack of circulation? Just FYI, my physician diagnosed me with Cellulitis last Thursday and I have been on an antibiotic since then. The redness is decreasing but I still get this pain.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to local inflammation.

From the other hand, you should know that the period of time of recovery should be a little longer. For this reason, I recommend having some rest in the next week and taking some painkillers.

If your situation does not improve, performing an X-ray study of the joint will be necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
