Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I currently take 3 mg equip (ropinerole)/day; 1 at noon, 1 about 6 pm, and 1 at bedtime. I am still bothered by symptoms several days per week and sleep poorly, though when I awaken during the night I m not always feeling the sensations in my legs. My doctor says I m already on a high dose; I m wondering if it s possible to take more or if there s something else I could try.
The maximum allowed dose of Ropinirole is 4 mg in a day in your condition. If this medication is not helping you and your sleep is disturbed, then you should talk to your doctor who might consider one of the following actions;
1. Keep you on Ropinirole and add another medication, such as a benzodiazepine which has double actions (a). helps with sleep (b). helps with your leg condition.
2. Replace Ropinirole with another drug from the same class and add a second medication
3. review the diagnosis
Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask for any further clarification if needed.
