What Causes Numbness In The Mouth While Suffering From Diabetes?

My friend who is diabetic said she had yo go home and eat. Today she said her mouth was going numb yesterday. She ate supper and felt just fine. Today she complained of a bad headache for which she was going to take Tylenol and possibly a nap. Should I mention this to her daughter?
