What Causes Numbness In The Right Hand And Headache?

I have been experiencing joint pain in my elbows for quite some time. The muscles in my forearms also ache. In addition I experience numbness in the ends of the fingers in my right hand occasionally. Last week, the middle finger went numb down to the second knuckle - it actually turned white. The only way I could restore feeling was running hot water over it. I also sometimes awaken with horrible headaches in the back of my head, above my neck. 16 years ago I had surgery on my neck - diskectomy and replacement (?) between C6 and C7. I am quite sure that my symptoms are related to aging and stenosis. But it is so uncomfortable. It hurts to lift things. Perhaps I have a brain tumor... Just kidding, there... Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I can understand your concern.

As per your history, it may be due to cervical spondylosis or vitamin B12 deficiency or nerve compression.

I will suggest you to do MRI neck after orthopedic consultation. To rule out other conditions, you can do B12 level check up. Treatment mainly depends upon the underlying conditions.

For spondylosis or stenosis, along with neurosurgeon opinion do physiotherapy as advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.Thank you.
