What Causes Numbness In The Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing?

I will be having this test tomorrow and they numb your throats before they put the tube in. I have so much thickening in my throat and chest that I cannot even swallow food or my pills. Should I have this test and can this test help me to continue to swallow anything? myersfamily2012at gmail.com
