What Causes Numbness In The Throat And Pressure Sensation In The Head?

My daughter has a numbness in her throat area, pressure in her head which has moved from the top of her head to the front, a burning feeling in her left hand and left bicep. She is having tightness in her chest but it is lessening after taking the 81mg aspirin (bayer). When she breathes in she feels like her heart hurts behind her left breast.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of numbness in the throat and pressure sensation in the head which is usually due to injured, damaged or diseased nerve and sometimes compressed nerve. These symptoms can also occur due to some medical condition involving nerves like diabetic neuropathy or upper respiratory track infection. In your case it could be due to involvement of facial nerve. I would suggest you to war saline garles. You can also start taking multivitamin supplements along with anti inflammatory and avoid wide opening mouth . Neurotropic medication such as nerve supplement, methylcobalamin is effective to improve your symptoms. You should consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order CT scan along with other test and treat it accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
