General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Migraine might cause vomiting and sometimes vomiting might scratch the throat mucosa and might cause thin stripes of blood with the vomit. If this is the case it is not something dangerous but he needs to take something to quiet the vomiting like metochlopramide so the damage to esophagus and the throat does not progress.
Another possible cause might be drugs that are used to treat migraine which might hurt the stomach and cause bleeding.
If he is getting more then just few thin stripes of blood with the vomit he needs to see the doctor to rule out esophageal mucosa tear or ulcers in the stomach.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
