What Causes Numbness On Jaws After Molar Extraction?

I had an extracted molar 2 months ago. I was using a retainer ( as I am waiting for the bone graft to establish for my implant) that needed to be adjusted. It has been a week without it and I am starting to "feel my front teeth", it is not numbness but I just feel they are there. Is this due to shifting because now they have room to move? Thanks

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain it is not possible for teeth to move from its place in just one week of removal of retainers..

It is seen in long standing cases where the patient does not get the extracted teeth replaced by artificial one and there is a drifting of teeth into the extraction space and most commonly the movement is towards the midline..

The feeling of teeth present there can be due to mild sensitivity of teeth due to gum infection or tooth sensitivity due to wear..

Movement of teeth is not evident in such a short duration but you should wear the retainers soon to avoid complications..

Hope your query is solved..
