What Causes Numbness On Knuckle After A Deep Cut?

I have a deep cut on the side of the knuckle on my pinky. After three days it's healing from the inside out like it should but I still haven't regained full feeling on the side where the cut occurred. What are some possible reasons for this? Could I have severed a nerve?
