Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 42. He has had some facial numbness for nearly a year. Recently while on vacation, his leg went numb for several hours and then several weeks later, he had an ocular migraine. He is incredibly fit, super cautious about diet, does not smoke, drinks rarely. He had a Ct scan which did not show anything. He does have hashimoto s disease and is treated for that.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have problem of facial numbness along with numbness of extremities . There can be many reasons for the symptoms you mention in query , But in your case it seems to me that there are two things that are responsible that is :-
- First the facial numbness is probably due to bell's palsy . Bell's palsy is a condition that causes temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles in one side of the face.
- Secondly the allergic reaction or side effects of certain medicine .
I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like diabetic neuropathy and trigeminal neuroptahy . Doctor may conduct various test to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant or anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy , massage or light muscle exercise .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
