What Causes Numbness On The Feet After A Leg Injury?

Brother in terrible accident. Patio door glass shattered and lacerated his calf muscle by 55 percent. what is the typical healing time for this type of injury? Is it normal that he has numbness in his foot and heel? How long should he stay off the leg. It was stitched up in Mexico. what should he be asking an orthopedic surgeon.

This sounds like a deep wound.

It can take anywhere between 4-6 months or longer for the complete healing.

The numbness in his foot and heel is due to the possible damage to certain nerves during the injury. That can be restored with regular physiotherapy.
