What Causes Numbness On The Hand After Receiving A Corticosteroid Injection?

I had a cervical corticoid steroid injection on the 13th of Jan, since then I have had numbness in my hand, mostly little finger and ring finger, loss of strength in that hand, and Thursday my left cheek started going numb and now today my tongue on the left side is numb. I called the Doctor office on Thursday and the receptionist said the nurses were busy and someone will call me back. I never received the call. I m getting worried now, should I go to ED

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common after an intramuscular injection. Generally, it will settle by itself. If symptoms persist better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated to rule out possible neurological causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
