What Causes Numbness On The Tongue After Taking Ibuprofen?

I have had a sinus infection for a few days now, I have been sleeping with a humidifier at night. I wasn t feeling well and had a headache last night so I took some ibuprofen and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning I have numbness on my tongue, teeth and cheek. Do you think sinus is the cause?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

As per your complain numbness of cheek and teeth on the side of infected sinus can be seen but numbness of tongue is not common during sinus infection due to a different nerve supply..

Secondly numbness of tongue, lips and cheeks can be due to a number of other causes like side effect of medication, nerve compression, Transient ischemic attack etc..

So my suggestion is to better consult a Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations as per suspected cause can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now do alternate warm and cool compresses over the numb areas and take Vitamin B complex supplements..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
