Hello,

I can understand your concern. It seems true that the effect might be due to anesthesia. During general anesthesia, you must have got a tube inserted in your throat that can suck all the fluids in the mouth.

There is a chance that this tube may have hurt the nerve on the tongue that supplies the tip of the tongue. If that is the case, then you may have to wait from a few weeks to a few months to get the sensation back.

In addition, you can consult the treating doctor or a neurologist regarding the trouble you are having.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
