What Causes Numbness, Red Sore On Roof Of Mouth In A Smoker?

Hi there. This past month, I have picked up smoking cigarettes. The other day, I feel a portion of my mouth being numb and now I see a little red sore on the roof of my mouth. I read up on it and my symptoms were very similar to smoker s palate. Then, today I start feeling like there is just a little something either in the back of my mouth, or on the back of my tongue. I don t feel it when I swallow but I just feel something there. Who knows? It could be paranoia from reading up on this and the fears of cancer. But can cancer develop that quickly?

no, but it can be developing and not be noticed for a considerable time. This is very common. Without seeing it I cannot comment on it very much. BUT cancer is really uncommon to go away fast by itself. So... stopping smoking and if it goes away in a week... unlikely to have been cancer !
