Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Numbness, Tingling And Weakness In Arms?
My arms go numb almost. Not really, but it feels almost tingly, then very ,very weak. It last for only a few seconds, maybe 30 seconds. It feels as though it comes from between my shoulders, but I feel funny all over when it happens. I take Citralopram 10mg. /Levothyroxine 100mg./ Lisinopril 10mg.
All causes of neuropathy or peripheral neuropathy should be ruled out. Diabetes, sciatica, nutritional deficiencies such as vitamin B12 deficiencies, autoimmune disease and certain medication side effects should be ruled out. Treatment is based on the cause. Hot compress and vitamin B12 injection can reduce the symptoms. Amitryptylline or Gabapentin may be required to inhibit the pain signals and reduce the discomfort.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
