What Causes Numbness With Pins And Needles In The Left Arm?

I'm a 53 year old female in good health. I suddenly had a numb left arm acomanied with pins and needle feeling in my fingers and severe pain in my shoulder. After trying many things, Chiropractic, massage, physio, pain meds etc. Xray showed degenerative C 3. Waiting for an MRI. What is the usual outcome of a Degenerative 3 C? Will I ever get the feeling back in my arm?
