General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Recurrent throat pain can be due to one of the following reasons:
- Hyoid bone or thyroid cartilage inflammation.
- Muscle spasm.
- Lymph node enlargement.
- Granular pharyngitis due to infection or allergy.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Consult an ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation, examination, ENT Endoscopy.
- CT scan of neck and throat including sinuses to find out the primary cause if suspected.
- Treatment will be obviously as per the cause found.
- Try to find the instigating or enhancing factors and avoid these at any cost.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
