What Causes One-sided Altered Sense Of Taste On The Tongue?

The taste buds on the right side of my tongue suddenly are not working properly. Its like everything the touches that side become very bitter. The left side seems to be working fine, but when all the food is mixed up the overall taste is not enjoyable. I feel fine, there is no numbness. Could it be a cold? Would a cold shut off the receptors?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.. warm regards... I understand your concern. The taste buds are under central nervous system, so if taste buds are not functioning properly then it needs neurological evaluation. Taste buds functioning has no connection with cold. U should first consult ENT consultant then Neurophysician.
