What Causes One-sided Head And Neck Pain After Using Thicker Rubber-band On Braces?

Hi I have been wearing braces for 15 months. Last month I was given a thicker rubber band. After that I had severe one sided head pain neck pain ear pain tingling etc. I took CT, ultrasound and everything came back normal. When I stopped wearing bands the pain was almost gone. Few days back tried wearing a thinner rubber band and I started having same pain. Should I discontinue wearing braces ?

Hello,

I think you should discuss the discomfort with the orthodontist to see if they have any additional recommendations. Your orthodontist likely deals with similar concerns, perhaps not as severe as your, routinely and may have other recommendations. If not, then you may have to consider either removal of the braces or a different approach to your orthodontic needs.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
