What Causes Onion Smelling Blood Discharge From A Popped Pimple?

Hi I had popped a pimple and pus came out but afterwards blood came out too. When I smelled the blood it smelled like onions. I thought it was because I had cut onions and the smell didn t leave my fingers so i washed them and squeezed more blood out and it did still smell like onions. I want to know why my blood smelled like onions?

Hi,

Acne occurs due to blocked sebaceous glands where excess oil and sebum gets trapped causing acne. When infected, pus and odour can occur from the pimple. Avoid pinching or popping the acne since it can spread the infection and also cause scarring. Antibiotics for 3 to 5 days should be taken along with topical application on the acne. Drink plenty of fluids and and use an anti-acne face wash everyday.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
