Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Onset Of Chills, fever And Shivering In Body?
Sometimes I get sudden onset of chills, I feel like I may have a fever, and my finger tips feel cold and go numb. It generally lasts from 20 minutes to an hour or maybe a little longer. I also notice some fatigue during these bouts and feel wore out afterwards. I usually lay down with this happens with a blanket over me. I generally shiver the entire time and then it seems all at once the symptoms are mostly gone but I almost have a hang over effect. What is causing this? I ve been dealing with this for years. I used to have really bad frequent migraines and I just associated them but I no longer have the migraine issue so they cannot be related.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The symptoms of coldness and numbness of fingers could be due to autoimmune disorder like Raynauds phenomenon. Associated fatigue is suggestive of connective tissue disorder. Fever associated with chills and rigors may be associated with all the above mentioned symptoms or may be due to unrelated disorder. Clinical assessment and relevant investigations are required for further work up and thus plan management.
