What Causes Oozing Rash On The Scalp Long After Treating Melanoma?

I have a history of melanoma and bsc i have recently been in the sun without a hat and i have my hait cut/clipped very short. Now i have what i think to be an oozing rash on my scalp. Skin poison, I am on vacation 700 miles from my home. I am regularly on prevacid 30 OD, naproxin 500 bid and cyclobenzaprine hs . I took two tylenol with dyphenhydomine because i had some. I went swimming in an indoor pool today and this seemed to help, but the oozing and drying of the blusters returns. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Because you have been exposed to the sun, very likely the skin on your head burned and oozing may be due to breaking of blisters or due to a possible infection that may have developed there.

I would recommend you to keep a hat to protect your skin from burning further and also use a local antibiotic cream such as bacitracin, fusidic acid or mupirocin 2-3 times a day.

If the lesions do not heal within a week or 10 days, please see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

I wish you quick recovery and good health,

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
