What Causes Orange Discoloration On The Roof Of The Mouth?
Hello, The roof of my mouth is orange and I don't know why. A couple of months ago I have a filling up in but they said they aren't 100% sure if it had gone up to far.And said I might need root canal surgery. Are these 2 related or is it just hormonal
Orange discolouration of roof of mouth can be seen if you take any medication that are orange coated or you take any mouth rinses or foods regularly with orange edible colour in it.. Other cause can be topical use of carotene containing ointments, carotene excess in body etc.. So it is advisable to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated so that a thorough clinical examination can be done and if there is any underlying factor then it has to be removed or treated to clear off the discolouration... If you are using any retinoid based ointments or creams stop using the same.. Maintain a good oral hygiene and use a mix of 1:1 hydrogen peroxide and water to rinse the mouth..
Hope this helps..
