What Causes Orange Urine In A Child?

My son had a nappy with orange urine in it today at daycare. Other than that he is perfectly healthy and happy. I don t feel like he s eaten any foods more than what he usually eats. He loves blueberry and eats loads of them but this has not happened before. Should I take him to the dr straight away or see if he has another one?

Hi,
Orange coloration of urine is mostly caused by dehydration. Sweating or inadequate taking of fluids may cause your urine concentration to rise, and thus giving your urine a orange color.
However, if this condition keeps repeating, on the next time you see orange urine you should go and visit a doctor. Sometimes this is a sign of liver problems.
Also be careful to keep your child hydrated, cause dehydration can cause many problems in your child's organism, not only urine coloration.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Wish you good health.
