What Causes Outbreak Of Itchy Bumps All Over The Body?

Hi, I have been experiencing small extremely itchy bumps that appear while I m sleeping or lying down but disappear with hours. The itching is so severe that it wakes me from my sleep but if I shower or wipe them with a cold cloth the itching will cease and the bumps go away. Sometimes it is just one and other times is it several in a row. This happens all over but when I get the bumps they always together. I assumed it was bed bug bites however my partner has never had any bites.

Hi,

There are several possible causes of itchy bumps that appear and disappear quickly. Some of the common causes include:
* Allergic reaction: Allergies to certain foods, medications, or environmental factors like dust, pollen, or pet dander can cause itchy bumps to appear on the skin. An allergic reaction can happen quickly and cause hives or rashes on the skin.
* Insect bites: Mosquito bites, flea bites, or bed bug bites can cause itchy bumps on the skin. Bed bugs tend to bite in a line or cluster, which may explain why you have seen multiple bumps together.
* Contact dermatitis: Exposure to irritants like soaps, detergents, or cosmetics can cause an itchy rash or bumps on the skin.
* Stress: Stress can weaken the immune system, making the body more susceptible to skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis. These conditions can cause itchy bumps to appear on the skin.
* Other skin conditions: Certain skin conditions like scabies or folliculitis can cause itchy bumps on the skin. Scabies is a contagious skin condition caused by mites that burrow into the skin and can cause intense itching. Folliculitis is when hair follicles get red, itchy bumps due to infection.

If the symptoms persist or become worse, it's important to see a doctor to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment. The doctor may recommend a skin test to determine if it's an allergy, prescribe medication for a skin condition, or recommend lifestyle changes to avoid triggers that cause the symptoms.
