What Causes Outbreak Of Massive Hives Post Lobectomy?
hI IWAS DIAGNOSED with adeno carcinoma of the right lung had surgery on the 21 st of Sept ,they took out the bottom lobe of the lung did well came home 5 days later ,then a week later a check up at my pcp i got a pneumonia and the following day came down with massive hives all over my body they seem to jump all over as of now i still have them making me crazy they turn into welts nobody seems to know how to fix it tried different meds and lotions any suggestions i know im going to have to see a dermatologist i have another appt. on the 4th of this month doc. thinks its alergic reation from the shot
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of operated Adeno-Carcinoma of the lung, operation, followed by pneumonia and then these big hives not getting controlled by medicines and lotions. Hives are definitely an indication that there is an allergen that is working to cause the hives and the dose is such that the hives are not coming under control. I hope you are already taking the best antihistamines and may be steroids. If not a very short course of steroids is needed to make it under control. In occasion case subcutaneous shot of diluted adrenaline may be required to come out of the crisis.
