Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Outbreak Of Red Lumps Around The Chin And Mouth?
I have been breaking out with red bumps on my chin and around my mouth for several months. More noticeable after I wash my face at night. I know I m under a lot of stress caring for my ill mother. Is this stress related? I also know that on face mapping the areas inflamed are related to my digestion and liver. What can I do? I ve tried acne gel medication. Sensitive skin soap and moisturizer. and even topical corticosteroids aren t helping. Nothing works.
Hello and thank you for the question! In my opinion,it may be a Perioral Dermatitis, which is a skin condition characterized by a red bumpy rash aroundthe mouth area, nose and lips. The causes include:Te use of topical corticosteroid to treat other skin conditions, the use of fluoridated toothpaste, make up including foundation, spicy food and stress.I would advice you to stop using all facial products, stop using fluoridated toothpaste, try to wash your face with warm water and the main thing is to consult with your doctor to make sure you get a proper diagnosis. Best regards!
