What Causes Outbreak Of Red Spots On Cheeks, Neck And Chest?
hi my daughter emily was just diagnosed with strep/sore throat imediatly she caught the flu and now shes starting to have red blemishesh red spots on her cheeks neck chesy and surrounding areas now what is the prob ive been back and fouth all week with my two kids can u help
1. Since there is history of streptococcal infection, thus red spots could be starting of scarlet fever and is usually a mild illness but it needs to be treated with antibiotics to prevent long term complication(s).
2. Since there is no vaccine to prevent scarlet fever thus best management is: . proper hand washing . stay away from school [after starting of antibiotics] . avoid sharing personnel items . maintain proper oral hygiene [to prevent oral ulcers] . check with a child specialist for further guidance and advise.
