What Causes Oval Shaped Bulge In The Middle Of Chest?

Hi, this question is about my 14yo son. He has an oval shaped bulge in the middle of his chest - at the top of his ribs. It is about the size of a tennis ball. When we push it slightly he says it doesn t hurt. It doesn t feel squishy, more like cartilage. We noticed it about 3 months ago. My son is a healthy teenage boy who is active playing soccer. What could this be?

Hi,

It may be very much normal. However, malformation of developing bone may be there. If he has deficiency of calcium or / and vitamin D3, then he should be treated for the same.
