What Causes Ovarian Cyst, Abdominal Bloating And Brownish Vaginal Discharge?

I am 45 and have pain to left ovary every month for the last 15 years for about 2-3 days out of the month with abdominal bloating and then discharge of thick brown/clear jelly like substance. I have had pelvic exams, ultrasound, uterine biopsy and been diagnosed with ovarian cyst. Can you have ovarian cyst every month for fifteen years and should I be concerned since my mother has ovarian cancer at 70. I have been told there is no treatment, I guess I just deal with it.
