What Causes Over Emotions When I Go Off For Birth Control?

Hi, It seems when I go off birth control even for my off week I find I am over emotional the week before and very irritable even the week of. This normally hasn't been an issue but the past year has becoming worse and worse. I get in a rut of almost depression. Am I lacking something or hormone embalance?
