What Causes Over Reactive Muscles In Eyes Of A Toddler?

Hi Doctor, the consultant squint surgeon for kids did a second operation today on my 3yr old boy. My boy s case was over reactive muscle causing the eye to go upwords when my baby look in the utmost right direction. He had same over-reactive muscle in both eyes. So the surgeon cut those over-reactive muscles in half to get them to loosen up. That was a year ago, the surgery was successful. Few months ago (about 5mnth) the squint came back to my boy, so we took him to same surgeon today and he suggested that the muscles he cut in half joined back again due fiberlosus accomilation. So anyway, he operated both eyes and he wanted to merely redo what he did a year a go. So here is the bad news: As he was operating on one of the eyes, and as he was cutting that over reactive muscle again after it got linked again, he by mistake made a slight cut (not fully in half though) to a good muscle nearby, which caused that eye to stay looking up like 30 degrees when the other eye is in the streight position. And when my boy looks downward that eye would look streight and unable to look in the downward direction when the other eye looks downward. So the surgeon appologized for the mistake and took my boy to the operation theater again and tried to link the intact muscle (which he damaged by mistake) again by stitching as well as folding it becuz he sugested that folding it will make it shorter and hence more durable. Now the boy is out but his eye is shut with a guaze. And we do not know yet what the end result is till tomorrow. But doctor says he hopes it will be back streight like the other eye, and if god forbit it does not, then he will have to make another surgery to relocate other muscles and place them in place of the damaged one. Pls pls pls doctors I need your valued openions.
