For about 2 months now I have a pain in my right leg starting about 2 inches above my ankle on the right side of the middle bone down the middle up for about 6 inches on the leg. The pain is mainly there all the time, sometimes strong and sometimes little. At times it gets hot and feels like it s burning inside and other times it just hurts. Putting heating pad has helped some times. Activity makes it more painful. I go up a flight of stairs at home a lot and it is especially painful then. Taking Excedrin dulls the pain and also the Salon pas help a little too. I will be 80 this year and went to several knee, hand, spine doctors in the end of 2016 and the overall conclusion is a strong case of Osteoarthritis. I ve suffered with several bouts of lower spine, middle back, hip, thigh and both knees pains which I managed to clear up with exercise but this last bout was pretty bad. The spine doctor had me go in for a shot in my left bursa region and it was like a miracle. All the pains in my knees, spine and whole body went away instantly. At the time I could hardly walk without pain and practically crawled up the stairs. The only thing that returned was a middle back pain especially when I m cooking and standing in a small area for a long time. I intend to consult a doctor about this new pain but would like your suggestions on what it could be. All my pains to date have been cured or made better by exercising. In spring and summer I usually walk 4 or 5 miles per day. Since this is the first pain that gets worse with walking I m afraid to do something wrong. Thank you and I hope you have some ideas and what type of doctor I should consult. Every time I get a new doctor he treats only one part of the body. I have now a hand, lower spine, and knee doctor and will have to find a doctor that treats the below knee to ankle area. Of course I have my Primay doctor but she is not very much help except to send me to other doctors and give physicals. I diagnosed my Dupreytens contracture by the internet when she did nt know what it was. Thanks again for your concern and help.
