What Causes Pain Above The Knee After An Injury?

I am a 62 year old male and yesterday I fell when my ladder fell when my ladder slipped over. I fell forward and sideways approx. 3 . I had a sharp pain in my right leg above my knee and up the back of my leg toward my butt. Today my leg is very sore and I have a stabbing pain when I turn the wrong way and when I am driving and my foot is on the gas pedal. Is this consistent with a pulled or strained muscle?

Hi,

Pain in the front of the knee that is made worse when climbing, taking stairs, or walking up an incline. Bursitis: inflammation caused by repeated overuse or injury of the knee. Chondromalacia patella: damaged cartilage under the kneecap. Gout: arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
