What Causes Pain After Tonsillectomy?
My 22-year-old son had a tonsillectomy on Friday, 8/17/12. It will come as no surprise to you that the recovery as been quite painful. What causes the differences in recovery time between adults & children? Kids often seem to bounce back faster than adults, but is it more than just the age difference?

Yes besides age there are many other factors that decides recovery from stitched wound....
In child age blood flow more , so recovery can fast ....
But other factors also can affect recovery like.
Vitamin C and antioxidants help in fast recovery.
Steroid deley healing....
If malnutrion with not taking balanced diet then recovery delayed.
If after operation secondary infection then healing delayed...
Anemia or chronic illness delay healing.
For your pain analgesic can be taken....
Antibiotic coverage will given for 7 days.
You will recover in 7 to 10 days....
If still pain posterior pharynx examined by ENT surgeon.
