What Causes Pain And Blackening Of Area After Splinter Removal?
i just got a splinter a few weeks ago and when the docter was doing surgry he accidently cut the splinter in half so the next week i had to go back to get the rest out and a week later i saw a black kind of area and it hurt a little bit does that still mean i have a little bit of the splinter stuck in thier and it dosent even hurt rightnow.what does it mean ,what should i do?
There is nothing to worry as it is a normal reaction of the body following any trauma. It is unlikely that a part of the splinter is still remaining.
The black area is due to some blood leaking into the area, that releases iron. The pain is part of the process and these should disappear over the next 3-4 days.
