Hello Ms.Sylvia, Thanks for sharing your health concern with us. I would like to know if the person who performed the abortion was qualified to do it and if the dilatation and curettage was done under proper sterile precautions. I would also like to know if a pelvic/trans-vaginal sonogram was done prior to the procedure to exclude an ectopic pregnancy. Cramping can occur as the uterus involutes after the abortion; it can also occur if the abortion is incomplete and the uterus is trying to expel the retained products by contraction. In the latter case, the bleeding can be episodic and heavy. Please report to your health care provider for further management. Take adequate rest, liquids and proper diet. Take care.
