What Causes Pain And Bleeding During Urination After A TURP Surgery?

I had button turp three weeks ago today. I still have blood at the start of urinating but it seems to be lessening. The only pain I had upon awakening after surgery was at the end of my penis where the catheter entered. It was excruciating. What a relief to have it removed. My flow is so much better. I have the urge to urinate quite frequently, especially through the day. At the end of urination there is pain at the end of my penis and is making urination really uncomfortable. should I be concerned at this point ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common after TURP procedure.

It is vector residual bleeding and will settle in couple of days.

You can go for a complete blood count to rule out anemia.

If symptoms persists better to consult a urologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
