What Causes Pain And Bleeding From Ears While Cleaning Wax?

this morning my partners ears were hurting so he cleaned them and alot of ear wax and blood came out on the cotton tips, ever since then his ears have been ringing and hurting and he cannot hear properly. I just had a look inside them (with a flash light on my phone) and there is still quite a lot of blood (like clots) in his ear, can anybody tell me what to do? thankyou

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain bleeding from ear after cleaning with an ear bud along with ringing and loss of hearing seems to be due to injury to the ear drum leading to Perforation..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get an Otoscopic examination done and in case of perforation in ear drum treatment will depend upon severity of perforation..
In case of small perforation antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkillers, steroids and decongestants can be advised..
In case if the perforation is large surgical patching has to be done..
You should also avoid exposure to loud sounds..
Excessive water exposure should be avoided..
Do not put anything inside ear to remove blood..
Take Ibuprofen if there is pain..
