What Causes Pain And Blood From Ear After Using Few Drops Of Peroxide For Itchiness In Ears?

Hi my ear has been itchy the past week. I was told to use a few drops of peroxide it bubbled so fast overflowed and got extremely warm then I had blood on my cotton ball. The pain in subsiding and my hearing is fine. Wat do you think happened. I'm very scared.

hi and thanks for the query,
i do not think that peroxide caused the bleeding.
peroxide probably made the skin in the canal very soft and then when you introduced the cotton ball the skin gave way and resulted in bleeding.
not a good idea to put peroxide into the ear.
since you have no pain and no loss of hearing i do not think there is anything to worry about.
regards,
Dr Rajkishori.
