What Causes Pain And Bruising On The Shin?

about a week ago i hit my shin on a pointy dog statue tail (kinda like a viking helmet point). its brusing all up my leg and it hurts when i walk and when something touches it or the skin along it moves any. is it time to see a doctor? the pain is only getting worse
